Directors Letter

Dear Families,

My name is Pauline Youssef and I would like to take this opportunity to present to you my goals and intentions as a Director and educator.

Educating children has been a part of my life for over 12 years. As a mother of two I know just how important the decision is to place your child in the care of others. Therefore, my goal at Steps is to ensure your children receive the same love, attention and care I give to my family.

I attained my bachelor’s degree from Hunter College with a focus in Elementary Education. I then went on to complete my master’s degree in ELL (English Language Learning) from Western Governors University. This gave me the knowledge and skills to work with dual language students.

I began my career in the Department of Education as a first-grade teacher for a year and then moved on to teach fifth grade. Working with children in both the upper and lower grades has afforded me the opportunity to experience the various social and academic needs of several different grade levels.

I joined the Steps to Success family as a kindergarten teacher in 2010 which allowed me to further hone my skills and strengthened my ability to guide children through their academic careers. I am devoted to establishing an environment that is enriching, nurturing and educational so that the children are eager and excited to attend school and you the parent can feel confident in knowing that your children are in a loving and positive setting.

As I moved forward throughout my career, I came to realize that the early childhood curriculums available were inefficient to meet the needs of the Steps to Success demographic of students. Therefore, I co-created a curriculum specifically designed to address the academic and social goals that students require to be successful in their future educational endeavors.

I am extremely grateful to be in the position where I am able to interact with students and parents on a daily basis and can also relay my wealth of knowledge to the teachers whom will be your children’s primary educators. I look forward to establishing a long-lasting relationship with both parents and students and eagerly anticipate years reaching exciting milestones, creating lasting memories and ending each day seeing a smile on your children’s faces.

 Warmest Regards,

 Pauline Youssef
