Frequently Asked Questions

Disclaimer: The answers in this section are general responses in accordance with our program. Please note, answers may vary from Center to Center and State to State.

1. Do you offer part-time?

We only offer full-time programs as we feel that students adjust better emotionally, socially and academically to a consistent daily routine. Parents are welcome to drop off their children and pick them up at their convenience, but we recommend bringing students before 9AM and picking them up no earlier than 3PM to get the most out of our program.

2. What is included in our tuition?

Our hours of operation are 7AM-7PM and you are welcome to pick-up and drop-off your children any time between those hours. Also included is three meals a day, all cooked fresh in our in-house commercial kitchen, a music enrichment program twice weekly and our proprietary, multi-sensory curriculum.

3. What does the schedule look like for daycare students in the summer?

In the summer, we still do daily circle time to make sure that our students do not forget the basic academic concepts they learned throughout the year. We simulate a real “summer camp” program by offering water play activities three times weekly as well as “Fun Fridays” and many themed events throughout. Daycare students do not go off premises during this time, everything is done on our playground.

4. How are students divided into groups?

We service students aged 6 months through Kindergarten. Students in each group are separated by age. In each age group, there are multiple classrooms and we separate students by their birthday.

5. Do the children spend time outside of the classroom as well?

Most classrooms have a Samsung SmartBoard for educational purposes. Teachers use this as a tool for demonstration as well as diversification of learning materials (educational games…etc). Teachers may play an educational show a few times throughout the day for a maximum of five minutes in transition periods so that they can lay out meals, change diapers or prepare for naptime etc.

7. Do we get updates throughout the day?

Steps to Success uses an app called Brightwheel to provide families with updates along with photos and videos throughout the day. You are also able to communicate with teachers and administrators through this software and ask any questions you may have or just check in on your child.

8. Do you offer a refund for missed days due to illness or vacation?

We offer two different credits to families: a sick week credit and a vacation week credit. Families receive 2 sick week credits annually. A sick week qualifies as five consecutive operational days missed due to illness. Families will receive half a week credit applied to the forthcoming month. Families also receive 1 vacation week annually. An entire week’s tuition will be credited on the forthcoming month’s tuition in the event of a vacation week

9. Do we provide potty training support?

Yes, we do assist with potty training. Each classroom is equipped with appropriately-sized toilets to aid in this process. Each child approaches this process differently and is prepared at different stages. Please feel free to discuss your family’s individual situation with the directors and/or teachers.

10. Are the toys regularly cleaned and sanitized? What about the class?

All toys are deep-cleaned weekly. They are also wiped down with disinfectant wipes throughout the day and at the end of the day. The class is thoroughly sanitized daily — tables after each meal and the floors cleaned multiple times a day.
